Twilight Review

Bella decided to move in with her father, Charlie, at his home in Forks, a very rainy and dark small town. She meets the mysterious and extremely handsome Edward Cullen, and she is determined to uncover what he is hiding the closer they get. However, as their relationship develops, she and the people she cares about get put in increasing danger. She never expected life in Forks to be exciting or risky, and now she may not be able to go back to her simple life.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      This saga is extremely popular, especially after the movie adaptations began releasing in 2008, and you most likely have heard of it already. I can already tell that the popularity is highly deserved after just the firs...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Review

After surviving the happenings of last year, Harry is back at Hogwarts to complete his second year where he will face new people, ghosts, and regular schoolwork. For example, he has to deal with the self-absorbed new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Moaning Myrtle, a ghost who haunts one of the girls' restrooms. The real challenge, though, is the mystery behind quite a few Hogwarts students getting paralyzed, supposedly by a monster that lies within the Chamber of Secrets which can only be opened by Salazar Slytherin's true heir. With accusations flying, can Harry figure out who truly opened the chamber, or will he get expelled when he himself gets accused?       Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin: ...

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Review

Harry Potter has lived with his awful Aunt, Uncle, and cousin ever since he was a little baby and his parents were murdered by an evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry does not know about his past, so he is shocked when he gets a letter to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While he goes through his first year, he experiences magic for the first time, new friendships, and the darkness from his past that is trying to kill him once more.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      I really enjoyed this read. I did the series a bit of an injustice by watching the movies before reading the books (I know, I know. I'm sorry). I saw the movies quite a while ago, and for some unknown reasons, never bothered to pi...

The Toll Review

Now that the Grandslayers, Rowan, and Citra are all gone, Goddard has risen to power and appears unstoppable. The Thunderhead has gone quiet, and more Tonist beliefs are coming to fruition. Will the Tone, Toll, and Thunder be enough to prevent Goddard from controlling the entire world and make everything right?      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      After the first two books, I found this to be pretty disappointing. It did not make it onto my favorites list, and I honestly regret buying it instead of renting it. I only took away one more star in comparison to the others, but I probably should take off one more.  Like with the other two books, and most books in general, there were some minor grammar and spelli...

Thunderhead Review

Since that fateful Winter Conclave a year ago, Rowan has become a vigilante known as Scythe Lucifer, murdering unworthy and corrupt scythes. Citra has grown into Scythe Anastasia, retaining the ideas of the original scythes. Her life, along with Scythe Curie's, are put in danger for the ideals they hold. War brews within the scythedom. Will the Thunderhead, the perfect version of "the cloud" that oversees the entire world, step in before the scythedom rips itself apart?      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      Unlike the first book, the action begins right away. It is not slow at all, so I always wanted to read more. Now, the action was not always classic action (ie. fighting, gleaning, etc.). There was a lot of ins...

Fangirl Review

Cath is an introvert obsessed with the Simon Snow, a character in a very popular fictional book. She even writes widely known fanfiction about him. Her and her twin sister start their freshman year of college at the same university; however, they are not as close as they once were. Cath is thrown into a whole world outside of her comfort zone as she begins this new chapter in her life. With obstacles both old and new and her tendency to stay in her room writing fanfiction, will she be able to adjust to her new life?      I am going to give a warning before I start my actual review. First, my opinion seems to be on the more unpopular side of things, so take into consideration you may have a different opinion than me. Second, this is not normally the sort of book I choose to read. The only reason I did so was because I received it in an elephant book exchange, and a couple of my friends spoke very highly of it. Therefore, it is not really my style. Now,...

The Betrothed Review

Hollis is a young daughter of nobility. Contrary to what many other nobles believe, she has truly won over the king and has his affections. At first, she is thrilled. After all, what girl would not want a king to be in love with her, especially in a world where all young girls grow up hoping to do just that? However, when a foreigner and his family come to stay at Keresken Castle where Hollis, other nobility, and the king reside in Coroa, she starts to questions if everything she ever hoped for is truly what wants. While she faces her new terrifying reality, she still has to undergo life in court and maintain a balance between what her heart tells her and her new duties as the love interest of the king. This review is my opinion only ! Kiera Cass delivered yet another amazing book! The queen of royalty hit it out of the ball park again! I seriously cannot praise this book enough! If you were a fan of her before, this book will reinforce the fandom, and if you were not, you certainly wi...

Scythe Review

My first review is going to be on Scythe  (Arc of the Scythe, Book 1) by Neal Shusterman. This review is my opinion only.  When looking at reviews for this book, you will tend to see two things. You will see that some find it boring while others absolutely love it. I found the happy middle. I got this book in an elephant boo k exchange and was extremely happy that  I ended up with it. It has a very cool concept, and, in my opinion, it is fairly unique. Due t o this, I was disappointed at first. I would say that the first half of the book (maybe a little more) was, for the most part, quite boring. It had its moments where I would get really interested, and then it would kind of lose me again. If you are someone that needs constant action in a book, this may not be the best option for you. However, if  you can handle a couple hundred pages that lean more towards the boring side of things, you will be pleasantly surprised and happy that you stuck with it. The last half...

Welcome

Hi! Welcome to my book blog! I am super excited to get this started. On the blog, I am going to do a few different things. The main thing will be book reviews in which I will give my honest opinion about books that I read and give them a rating. I will also answer any questions, give recommendations, post information about books (adaptations, releases, etc.), and honestly just express my love for reading. I am on other platforms under the same name (the_ya_book_talk). This includes Goodreads and Instagram. Make sure to go check out those accounts where I do the same thing I will on here plus a bit extra! Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I will enjoy making it! This is the link for my Goodreads:  https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/57782575-the-ya-book-talk
