ACOWAR Review

Back at the Spring Court, Feyre works to gain knoledge about Tamlin and the King of Hybern. If she makes a mistake, she will doom herself, her friends, and all of Prythian. With a war looming, the Night Court will need allies. Feyre must also sort through all of the High Lords to figure out who she can truly trust. Even still, this may not be enough, and she will need allies who she would never have thought to trust before.

Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion, and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:

Sarah J. Maas has once again amazed me so much with her writing that I cannot find the right words to express how much I loved it. It is starting to become a streak, one that I hope will never stop. Just like with the first two books in this series, my emotions were all over the place because the book was so fast paced. This is, in my opinion, the thing that really proves the book was excellent. An average or sub-par book would never make me feel a range of emotions, nevermind feeling those emotions so intensely. ACOWAR did this so well that my 'just one more chapter' turned into me falling asleep while reading because I just couldn't stop.
The world and many of the characters had already shown how well built and developed they were. This definitely did not falter at all during this book. All of the new characters we were introduced to were all fantastic (even if I hated them, haha). Also, just to put everything out there, Rhysand still has my whole heart, and I still admire Feyre a ton. One thing I really admired about what was done with the characters this time, though, is how my feelings for some of them changed so drastically from when they were first introduced. This was a very cool tactic on the author's part.
The plot had SO MUCH. I mean, there was seriously a bit of everything in it- romance, action, betrayals, surprises, undercover missions, feuds, politics, and so on. There was never a dull moment. For some reason, it keeps surprising me how well Maas writes different scenarios. She has proved her skill so many times, but it is so good that it is practically unbelievable. She somehow finds a way to go from steamy romance to kind of gory violence without missing a beat.
The cover, map, and entire interior of the book are gorgeous! I really appreciated the map because it was useful to look back on at time while reading. I appreciate the cover and interior designs just because they are so nice to look at, and the outer designs make my bookshelf look so much prettier, haha. The title is also absolutely perfect for the book, which I adore.
If anyone ever asks me again for a book recommendation, I think this series is my new go-to. I cannot praise or recommend it enough. This book, series, and author are all at the very top of my list of favorites.
