Serpent and Dove Review

Louise le Blanc is the daughter of one of the most powerful witches. That did not stop her, however, from abandoning her coven and magic, starting a new life as a thief in Cesarine. This has its own dangers, though. Witches in this city are burned at the stake after being hunted by Chasseurs, men sworn to the church with the goal of eradicating those they deem unnatural. Reid Diggory is a Chasseur, so he should kill her if they ever met. Then the unexpected happens, and they are forced into marriage. Lou must ensure her secrets stay secret, but things get harder as she starts to develop feelings for this man who is supposed to be one of her many enemies. Unable and sometimes unwilling to change parts of their nature, Lou and Reid must face the many impossible choices presented to them.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I...

The Lost Sisters Review (The Folk of the Air 1.5)

This companion novel to the Folk of the Air series focuses on Taryn and why she fell in love with Locke which leads to her ultimate betrayal of Jude. It is written in second person and you read as if you are Jude, and Taryn is speaking with you.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      This is going to be very short as it is only a review for a companion novel.      I enjoyed reading this. After reading about Taryn's actions in The Cruel Prince, I found it very hard to forgive her and to like her in general. Now, I understand and have a bit more sympathy (although not too much). I was definitely curious as to what could have driven Taryn to following through with the betrayal (besides the obvious love...

Let's begin:      This finale was epic. Honestly, these books just got better and better. I am officially obsessed with this series and the author. I love...

Wicked King Review

With Cardan now under her control, Jude essentially runs the kingdom of Elfhame. Unused to not having all of the power, Cardan does all he can to make Jude's life miserable. With numerous threats to her clear and closing in, she now has the issue of uncovering a person whom she trusts plan to betray her. As if that is not enough, she also faces the war with herself over her feelings for the wicked new High King.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      If you read my review for the first book in this series, you would know how much I loved it. What I am about to say next may sound bad, but I mean it in a good way, and it in no way is meant to reflect negatively on the first book because it is still an amazing read. ...

Cruel Prince Review

After the brutal murder of their parents, Jude and her sisters are forced to move to the High Court of Faerie and be raised by the murderer. They try to not attract too much attention especially since humans are not popular among fey, but that can sometimes be hard as they are treated differently than all other humans that live with fey. Jude attracts the attention of Prince Cardan, the youngest child of the High King, but also the cruelest. Still determined to fit in and have a place in Court, Jude does not bow down to Cardan. Now, she will have to live with the results of her decision.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      This book was my first read that included the fey. Honestly, I am not sure why this is be...

Crooked Kingdom Review

Now that they were successful in the heist and double crossed, Kaz and the others must continue to fight. They have more enemies than one, all of whom have now entered the game. Weaker than usual, the crew is going to be severely challenged in more ways than one. The war in Ketterdam has begun.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      If you were a fan of the first book, there is no need to worry that this one will  not live up to the expectations we now have. It was fantastic read, possibly even better than the first.       I enjoyed the plot of this book so much. It was even more complex and tense than the first. I loved that there were so many different stages in the crew's plan and that ...

Six of Crows Review

Kaz Brekker, the infamous bastard of the Barrel, lives in Ketterdam. Here, you can get anything so long as you can pay the price. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. They were highly recommended by so many people, but the passion with which the fans spoke of them really set them apart f...

Breaking Dawn Review

Bella has finally made her decision on whether or not she wants to become immortal. Now, when she is finally experiencing true, unyielding happiness, it could all be taken away permanently. Is she strong enough to fight for her new life, or will her and everyone she loves die for good?      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      This conclusion book is formatted a bit differently than the three prior books. Rather than being all from Bella's point of view, some of it is shown through Jacob. The book is split into three parts: the first and third in Bella's perspective, and the second part is from Jacob's perspective. Jacob is probably my favorite character out of all of my amazing options, so I have always been curious...

This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      This second installment in the Twilight saga made me really question my feelings for both Edward and Jacob. I now fully understand the 2000s debate of team Edward or team Jacob. I mean, seriousl...

Additionally, the author sent me this e-book as a free review copy; however, this did not influence my review. This is 100% my hon...

First Reviewer Copy

Hi guys! I have some exciting news! I got my first reviewer copy of an e-book a couple of days ago (I know, super exciting!). It is called Last Memoria  by Rachel Emma Shaw. It was published on May 10, 2020, and so far, it has great reviews and ratings on Goodreads. I will leave the description of what it is about below (just know that it sounds great to me for now). Shaw reached out to me through my bookstagram asking if I would be interested in receiving the review copy. Of course, I was already planning on saying yes, but she was so sweet in every single one of her messages that there was absolutely no way I could refuse. I mean, she was seriously such a kind person. Now that I have finished reading the book I was in the middle of when she reached out to me, I will be starting to read my copy of Last Memoria . I am extremely excited, and I cannot wait to write my review on it. I have high hopes for it!           If you want to lo...

Twilight Review

Bella decided to move in with her father, Charlie, at his home in Forks, a very rainy and dark small town. She meets the mysterious and extremely handsome Edward Cullen, and she is determined to uncover what he is hiding the closer they get. However, as their relationship develops, she and the people she cares about get put in increasing danger. She never expected life in Forks to be exciting or risky, and now she may not be able to go back to her simple life.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      This saga is extremely popular, especially after the movie adaptations began releasing in 2008, and you most likely have heard of it already. I can already tell that the popularity is highly deserved after just the firs...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Review

After surviving the happenings of last year, Harry is back at Hogwarts to complete his second year where he will face new people, ghosts, and regular schoolwork. For example, he has to deal with the self-absorbed new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Moaning Myrtle, a ghost who haunts one of the girls' restrooms. The real challenge, though, is the mystery behind quite a few Hogwarts students getting paralyzed, supposedly by a monster that lies within the Chamber of Secrets which can only be opened by Salazar Slytherin's true heir. With accusations flying, can Harry figure out who truly opened the chamber, or will he get expelled when he himself gets accused?       Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin: ...

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Review

Harry Potter has lived with his awful Aunt, Uncle, and cousin ever since he was a little baby and his parents were murdered by an evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry does not know about his past, so he is shocked when he gets a letter to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While he goes through his first year, he experiences magic for the first time, new friendships, and the darkness from his past that is trying to kill him once more.      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      I really enjoyed this read. I did the series a bit of an injustice by watching the movies before reading the books (I know, I know. I'm sorry). I saw the movies quite a while ago, and for some unknown reasons, never bothered to pi...

The Toll Review

Now that the Grandslayers, Rowan, and Citra are all gone, Goddard has risen to power and appears unstoppable. The Thunderhead has gone quiet, and more Tonist beliefs are coming to fruition. Will the Tone, Toll, and Thunder be enough to prevent Goddard from controlling the entire world and make everything right?      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      After the first two books, I found this to be pretty disappointing. It did not make it onto my favorites list, and I honestly regret buying it instead of renting it. I only took away one more star in comparison to the others, but I probably should take off one more.  Like with the other two books, and most books in general, there were some minor grammar and spelli...

Thunderhead Review

Since that fateful Winter Conclave a year ago, Rowan has become a vigilante known as Scythe Lucifer, murdering unworthy and corrupt scythes. Citra has grown into Scythe Anastasia, retaining the ideas of the original scythes. Her life, along with Scythe Curie's, are put in danger for the ideals they hold. War brews within the scythedom. Will the Thunderhead, the perfect version of "the cloud" that oversees the entire world, step in before the scythedom rips itself apart?      Keep in mind that everyone has their own opinion. This review is only my opinion , and you may have your own, different one. I would take into consideration what I say, but do not make a decision about the book solely based off of this review. Let's begin:      Unlike the first book, the action begins right away. It is not slow at all, so I always wanted to read more. Now, the action was not always classic action (ie. fighting, gleaning, etc.). There was a lot of ins...

Fangirl Review

Cath is an introvert obsessed with the Simon Snow, a character in a very popular fictional book. She even writes widely known fanfiction about him. Her and her twin sister start their freshman year of college at the same university; however, they are not as close as they once were. Cath is thrown into a whole world outside of her comfort zone as she begins this new chapter in her life. With obstacles both old and new and her tendency to stay in her room writing fanfiction, will she be able to adjust to her new life?      I am going to give a warning before I start my actual review. First, my opinion seems to be on the more unpopular side of things, so take into consideration you may have a different opinion than me. Second, this is not normally the sort of book I choose to read. The only reason I did so was because I received it in an elephant book exchange, and a couple of my friends spoke very highly of it. Therefore, it is not really my style. Now,...
